The first-time MP referred to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei as 'Madam Speaker Sir', something that caught Duale's attention.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has hit back at his Garissa Township counterpart, Aden Duale, after he criticized the presentation by the newcomer in Parliament.

In a video shared on his social media pages on Thursday, October 6, Salaysa claimed that the Defence CS nominee was not qualified for the position.

The youthful MP alleged that Duale would bring more problems to the nation, adding that he will be the first person to ask him questions in parliament.

“Aden Duale even from the look of things, I was looking at you when you were saying that the first thing to do is to remove KDF from Somalia. You are going to bring more problems to this country. You are not qualified to be the CS of defence. And I’m telling you for free, I will be number one to ask you questions in parliament,” Salaysa said.

Salaysa seemed to have a challenge while making his maiden presentation in Parliament on Wednesday, October 6, an incident that caught the eye of Duale.

He was heard repeatedly referring to the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei as 'Madam Speaker Sir' as he occasionally switched from English to Kiswahili.

"Madam speaker, pole pole ndio napata," Salasya said on Wednesday in Parliament chambers.

Duale then then took to his Twitter account after the first-time MP's presentation to post:  "This is serious, can't be the August house. Mungu saidia."

Salasya is among the youngest MPs who were elected to the 13th Parliament during the August 9 general election.
