East African Community Secretary General Peter Mutuku Mathuki on Wednesday held separate talks with Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his successor William Ruto.
During the talks with President Ruto, Mathuki briefed him on the state of the EAC regional integration agenda, peace and security matters and key priority projects and programmes of the community.
Mutuku was accompanied by Judge Nestor Kayobera of the East African Court of Justice.
Ruto was flanked by his outgoing Cabinet members during the meeting.

In a statement after the meeting Mathuki thanked President Ruto for according him warm reception.
"Thank You H.E @WilliamsRuto for the warm reception and great agenda on EAC integration, focusing on making borderless @jumuiya and elimination of #NTBs. Peace and security in the region is Kenya’s key priority," the EAC SG said.
It is after the meeting that he paid a courtesy visit to the EAC Facilitator on Peace Process in #DRC and former President of Kenya President Kenyatta.
