Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary nominee Alfred Mutua says he is worth Sh420 million.
Dr. Mutua made the announcement on Monday, October 17, while appearing before the Committee on Appointments at the National Assembly.
"My net worth is set at approximately Sh420 million. My current sources of income include Businesses here and there, hotels, and apartments," Mutua stated.
The Foreign Affairs CS nominee noted that if cleared, he would make his first trip to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region to try and resolve the problem of mistreatment.
"It’s quite unfortunate that Kenyans have died and been mistreated in some parts of the world where they go to seek employment. It’s a shame that we have lost about 85 Kenyans in the last three months, especially in Saudi Arabia.

"I am going to work with the Ministry of Interior and the Saudi Arabian Embassy and government so that we can allow our DCI to go to Saudi Arabia with me and investigate each and every death that has occurred," he stated.
Dr. Mutua, speaking on his childhood, said that he was born in Kibra in a poor family and dropped out of school in Form Two but a well-wisher came to his rescue and paid for his studies.
"In form two school fees ran out and I stopped going to school because we were poor. Because I taught Sunday school, a mzee wa kanisa paid for my school fees," the former Machakos Governor told the committee.
