On Monday, five cabinet secretaries were vetted.


Another set of five cabinet secretaries will Today, Wednesday, be vetted by the National Assembly committee on appointments.

The President appointed 22 Cabinet Secretaries all of whom must be vetted, plus the attorney general.

Those to be vetted today are Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee Kithure Kindiki and his treasury counterpart Njuguna Ndung’u.

Kindiki will be vetted at 9:00 am while Ndug'u will take his seat at 10:30 am.

Public Service and Gender nominee Aisha Jumwa will be vetted from 11:30am by the committee.

Energy and Petroleum CS nominee Davis Kimutai Chirchir will later in the afternoon be vetted at 2:30 pm.

Moses Kuria, who has been nominated for the Trade, Investment and Industry Cabinet position, will close the day’s exercise from 3:30 pm.

On Monday, five cabinet secretaries were vetted.

They include Prime Cabinet nominee Musalia Mudavadi, Justin Muturi, the Attorney General nominee, Defense CS nominee Aden Duale, Alfred Mutua (Foreign and Diaspora Affairs) and their Water, Sanitation and Irrigation counterpart Alice Wahome.

The vetting exercise runs through to Saturday, October 22, with the exception of Thursday, October 20, when the country will observe Mashujaa Day.

The candidates are required to present before the committee their original IDs, academic and professional certificates, as well as letters of clearance and compliance from EACC, KRA, HELB, DCI and CRB.
