Kuria was put on the spotlight over whether he sufficiently qualified to pass the integrity test by one member of the committee.

"We’ve come from a very divisive phase in the politics of our country. I was the treasurer of the student organisation of Nairobi University. I was politically exposed from that point. I grew up under the wings of Kenneth Matiba and Jaramogi Oginga," he stated.

The legislator promised to work to ensure political competition does not bring enmity.

On bribery allegation, Kuria stated that the issue was taken out of context and explained himself in Parliament.
