Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition MPs who are members of the Parliamentary committee on appointment have rejected five Cabinet Secretaries' nominees named by President William Ruto.
Details of a report accessed by the Nairobi Leo indicate that the five were rejected over incompetence and pending court cases among other reasons.
According to our sources, the Azimio MPs have deemed CSs nominees Aisha Jumwa (Public Service and Gender), Mithika Linturi (Agriculture), Peninah Malonza (Tourism), Zacharia Njeru (Lands) and Njunguna Ndung'u (Treasury) as unfit to hold office.
While rejecting Jumwa's appointment, the Azimio MPs cited murder charges she faced even though the victim's family has filed for the withdrawal of the case against her.

For Mithika Linturi, the MPs also cast doubt on his suitability for the office following numerous court cases.
Linturi while being vetted for the CS post said he has at least 35 active court cases. The Azimio MPs at the same time concluded that Linturi failed to explain how he will transform the agricultural sector once he takes over the office.
On Malonza, Azimio MPs were unsatisfied with her experience to transform the Tourism sector.
The group concluded that she was not well-versed in her mandate judging by how she misquoted facts during the vetting.
On Njeru, the Azimio MPs felt that he is not well versed in the ministry role hence the need for the president to consider his appointment.
It is yet to be disclosed why Ndung'u appointment was declined by the Azimio MPs.
The National Assembly is expected to debate the report on Tuesday, October 25.
