A high court in Chuka, Meru county, has sentenced a man to 40 years in prison after he was found guilty of murder.
Benson Kimathi Marangu, 40, was found liable for the murder of Marybel Kapolon, a daughter of a magistrate.
The incident happened in 2018 in Meru County.
Kaplon, a Standard Four pupil of Consolata Primary School, Meru was kidnapped while on her way from school.
She would later be found dead and buried in Gitoro Forest on September 22.

On September 21, detectives took samples from a vehicle believed to have been used in the pupil's abduction.
Marangu's co-accused, Francis Otundo was found guilty of threatening to kill the deceased.
He was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.
He will however not spend time behind bars since he has been in prison for five years since the prosecution of the matter began.
