Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has asked the Parliament of Kenya to sell its Nairobi buildings.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the senator said the move will decongest Nairobi.
The Senator further proposed that the amount could be used to build a parliament city elsewhere where they, as MPs, can travel to attend parliamentary proceedings.
"The Parliament of Kenya should sell all its expensive buildings to decongest Nairobi and then use a fraction of its proceeds to build a parliament city in Kajiado/ Narok county - preferably Mosiro Ward which is a desert. We can drive to the city Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to debate," he tweeted.
The suggestion, however, attracted mixed reactions among Kenyans.

We don't need waheshimiwas driving back to Nairobi with their roads entitlement inconveniencing us every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Isiolo is better," Mwendi Ungu reacted.
Francis Ihungo said:
"Kumbe unafikiriaga saa zingine mkubwa. Good idea, Nakuru should be made the agricultural city, from agriculture institutions to industries and all other things entail Agriculture. Nairobi should remain a diplomatic city and Transport City."
