President William Ruto on Thursday, October 27, singled out outgoing Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Joseph Kinyua for exemplary leadership during the transition period.
Speaking after the swearing-in of cabinet secretaries at State House, Ruto noted that Mr. Kinyua worked with him during the transition period to ensure a smooth process.
"I want to congratulate Joseph, he has worked with me to make sure that Kenya gives an example of what a transition looks like.
"There was no coup in the election which needed the passing of the baton from one team to another and Joseph made sure that there was a seamless working together between the cabinet that was there and the new cabinet," Ruto stated.

Mr. Kinyua handed over the mantle to his successor Felix Koskei as the first order of business during the swearing-in ceremony of cabinet secretaries allowing him to steer the programme.
"I thank you and your predecessors for according me the privilege to serve in four successful administrations and in yours as well. It has been a profound honour and humbling journey. I'm immensely grateful to be accorded the rare opportunity to serve Kenyans and the great men chosen to be President," Mr. Kinyua said while handing over the mantle.
Kinyua served in Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi's administrations.
He rose to power in 2013 after being appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta becoming one of the oldest public servants.
His career began in 1978 as an assistant lecturer at the University of Nairobi. He began working at the Central Bank of Kenya as an economist in 1980 and eventually attained the position of director of research.
