Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has lashed out at the Meru County MCAs maintaining that she will not be intimidated.
Speaking to the press on Friday, October 28, Mwangaza maintained that she was in charge of the county and she knew the law.
"I’m a woman of my own principles, naelewa sheria na sitakubali intimidation to the level of they cough, I answer. I will not do what is not supposed to be done because I want to respect some people.
"Nitasimama kidete kama gavana amechaguliwa. Na nataka kila kiongozi ajue hivi, Meru walitoka tarehe tisa na wakaamua gavana wao ni mama. Kwa hivyo ata wakifanya nini, gavana wa Meru ni mama na bado nitasimamia county ya Meru," Mwangaza stated.

The county boss has been at loggerheads with Meru MCAs over the running of the county affairs since she assumed office.
The MCAs alleged that Mwangaza was not involving them in decision-making in the county and that she had resorted to appointing her family members to positions in the county.
They further claimed that they were being demeaned by officials in the governor's office and that she had refused to give them an audience.
Already, a Meru resident has filed a petition with the assembly compelling the MCAs to initiate the impeachment process of Mwangaza.
The resident, Salesio Thuranira, sought to compel Meru MCAs to oust the governor over what he termed as gross misconduct and abuse of office.
