President William Ruto has sealed an agreement with the new UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak over fast-tracking Sh500 billion British investments in Kenya.
In a statement by the British High Commission in Nairobi on Monday, November 7, the investments included power projects that are meant to produce more power in the country.
The projects include the Malindi Solar Extension, a Sh7.5 billion investment that produces 40 Megawatts and which will have an additional Sh 7.5 billion.
President Ruto and the UK Prime Minister also agreed to fast-track the Menengai Geothermal project, which a Sh2.5 billion project.
The two leaders also agreed to fast-track the Grand High Falls Dam in Tana River where Sh25 billion was injected to generate over 1000 Megawatts of hydroelectric power.

The Head of State met with Sunak during the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
"UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Kenyan President HE William Ruto met at the COP27 climate summit today (Monday, November 7). The leaders agreed to fast-track six green investment projects worth Sh500 billion spanning green energy, agriculture and transport," read part of the statement by the British High commissioner.
The UK Prime Minister praised the Kenyan president for Kenya's pioneering climate leadership urging him to continue championing for clean growth.
