Azimio leader Raila Odinga has warned President William Ruto's government over the removal process of the IEBC vice chairperson Juliana Cherera and three other commissioners.
In a press statement on Thursday, November 24, Raila claimed that he will not sit back and watch the country go back to the Nyayo regime.
The former Prime Minister said that the push to have Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'aya ousted was a pushback in democracy.
"We are here to sound a warning. No one should lie to this regime that we will sit back and watch a return of the Nyayo regime by another name. The injustice being inflicted on IEBC commissioners, if proceeds are kindly conceived, will mark the beginning of a massive pushback," Raila stated.

The ODM leader sensationally claimed that the government wanted to pick a set of user-friendly IEBC commissioners to complete the capture of IEBC for the 2027 elections.
Raila said that the four commissioners did not commit any offense, claiming that only IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati committed an offense.
"This probe is politically motivated and is a continuation of the witch-hunt mission that Ruto is on. In fact, we advise the commissioners to boycott it in the interest of constitutionalism and the rule of the law," Raila said.
The Azimio leader addressed the press after attending the hearing of the petitions against the four commissioners in Parliament on Thursday.
Cherera and the three commissioners disowned the presidential results announced by Chebukati in August, citing opaqueness in the electoral process.
