Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has stepped down as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Keroche Breweries Limited.
Speaking on Tuesday, June 13 during Keroche's 25th-anniversary celebrations, an emotional Karanja stated that leaving the organization after twenty-five years at the helm is an extraordinary journey that words cannot adequately capture.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude for making the past twenty-five years an extra ordinary journey that words cannot adequately capture. I believe I leave the organization well positioned to meet the opportunity and challenges for a national and international leader in the Kenyan and African beverages industry,” said Karanja.
The Senate Deputy Majority Leader went on to say that, she will remain a supporter and consumer of the Keroche brands.

She further expressed confidence that the remaining team will propel the company to greater heights.
“While I may no longer be physically presented in the office every day please know that our bond remains unbreakable. I am not just a bystander, I am a firm believer, fan, and devoted consumer of the Keroche brands.
“This company holds a special place in my heart. It is a love that will endure for eternity. I know and I believe this team will create a future that exceeds even the wildest dream. Mbele iko sawa,” she stated.
Potas Anaya who previously served as Keroche’s Chief Financial Officer will replace the Nakuru Senator as the CEO.
Karanja’s exit from Keroche comes, even as the company is embroiled in tax disputes with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
According to the taxman, Keroche owes the government Ksh 22 billion in unpaid taxes.
