Kenya Railways has announced that it has increased Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) passenger fares.
In a notice on Wednesday, November 1, Kenya Railways said it has also reviewed prices of the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service, Kisumu Safari Train, and Nanyuki Safari Train.
The corporation explained that the increase in train fares is a result of changes in fuel prices.
“This increase is informed by changes in the energy and petroleum sector where prices of fuel have significantly increased thus affecting the cost of our operations,” the notice read in part.
