November inflation increased to 2.8 per cent.

The has listed five food major items which recorded an increase in prices.

In its November inflation report released on Friday, November 29, KNBS revealed that Sugar registered the highest price increase of 5.3 per cent.

This was followed by the 2kg maize flour which increased in price by 5.1 per cent.

1 litre of cooking oil and 1kg of tomatoes also witnessed a price growth of 3.1 per cent and 3.6 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of a 2 kg packet of wheat flour increased by 1.4 per cent within the last month.

"The overall year-on-year (annual) inflation rate as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 2.8 per cent, in November 2024; a slight increase from an inflation rate of 2.7 per cent recorded in October 2024," read the report in part.

"The month-to-month inflation rate was 0.3 per cent in November 2024."

Conversely, some food items also registered a reduction in prices. Potatoes and Onions registered the highest drop in prices by over 2.5 per cent.

Reduction in prices was also witnessed for milk, carrots and cabbages.

Likewise, there was a drop in electricity prices and the 13kg cooking gas by 0.3 and 1.1 per cent respectively.
