Smriti Vidyarthi will now work at a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters.

Journalist and former NTV news anchor Smriti Vidyarthi has landed a new job months after her departure from Nation Media Group (NMG). 

In an announcement on Thursday, May 22, Vidyarthi announced that she has joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

Vidyarthi disclosed that she will serve as the Executive Communications Officer for Africa at TNC.

"I'm turning the mic and lens to nature; I'm excited to announce that I've joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a global conservation organization whose mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.

"TNC offers a powerful platform for change, and as TNC's executive communications officer for Africa, I can't wait to tell our stories as we conserve our precious landscapes and oceans for people and nature. Together we find a way," she said.

TNC is described as a global environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters.

Established in 1951 in the United States, TNC has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organizations worldwide. 

It has a presence in over 80 countries.

Vidyarthi's new role comes months after she announced her departure from Nation Media Group after an illustrious career spanning sixteen and a half years. 

In a brief statement on Monday, February 10, she expressed her gratitude to viewers and Nation Media Group for trusting her.

"Sixteen and a half years of service to the Nation Media Group and to the nation at large. Thank you for trusting me. For now, tune in tonight at 9 pm for my last bulletin on NTV," she said. 

In media, Vidyarthi began her journalism career at K24 as a Business News Anchor. 

In 2008, she joined NTV, where she has anchored major live events and breaking news, and conducted interviews.

Vidyarthi has hosted a number of influential figures, including Raila Odinga, Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame, U2 lead singer Bono, and three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Usain Bolt. 

In addition to her role as a news anchor, she has hosted NTV Wild Talk, a program dedicated to wildlife conservation and environmental issues.
