Former TV news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga has sent a heartfelt message to Kenyans who stood by her and her family following the death of her mother, and former Kwale county MP Zainab Chidzuga.
In the message seen by Nairobi Leo, Mwanaisha thanked all who have supported them after losing their mother.
The former Kwale Woman representative was laid to rest at her home in in Ziwani Golini, Matuga sub-county, on Friday.
“Hello Good people, I wish to register my sincere appreciations to you on my behalf and on behalf of the family of the late Hon. Zainab Chidzuga who has gone to be with The Almighty Creator. The family expresses gratitude to you for standing with us during a very trying moment.
I note with sincere appreciation as well, your recent acts of kindness as you stood with my family during the mourning of my late mother Hon Zainab Chidzuga. We do not take your support and prayers for granted. As always, you remain in our prayers as we hope that we will be in yours too as we ask for God’s reward of blessings and protection. The former TV news anchor mentioned several national leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga among other leader from the Coast region, as people who have stood with them during this trying time.
The former Kwale County MP died on Thursday at a Nairobi Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
She succumbed to covid-19 complications aged 65.
Chidzuga is survived by seven children.
