Renowned American Singer Ashanti has tested positive for Covid-19 days after her vacation in Kenya.
Ashanti was in Kenya last week and visited several places including the Nairobi National Park.
She later travelled back to the States, but unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19 a few hours before her verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole.
“Hey y'all I can't believe I'm saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19. I'm ok and not in any pain. I'm actually down to do the verzuz from my house... we're trying to figure it all out!!!" she posted on Instagram.
Following the revelation, the Verzuz team postponed the battled that was to happen on December 12, 2020 noting that it will now take place on January 9, 2021.
"Unfortunately, we have to postpone tonight's @Ashanti vs @KeyshiaCole #VERZUZ. Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19 beforehand, and we cannot put anyone at risk in the process. First time this has struck us so close to showtime. We apologize to our incredible audience! Get well soon, Ashanti. Wear a mask, stay inside, and take COVID-19 seriously. It’s truly affecting our community."
Ashanti is a Grammy award winner and is famed for her hit songs that include; ‘Foolish’, ‘What’s Luv’ among others.
