Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe is a popular businessman and politician and has often been considered one of the most powerful political figures in the country.

Though some politicians may be able to keep their families under the radar, the glitz and glamour that comes with the rich life has often thrusted some of their children into the limelight.

Davidson Wakairu Gatuhi, Murathe’s son, has made a name for himself away from his father’s fame. He is a budding politician, businessman, and environmental activist.

Over the years, he has made an effort to educate and engage youths in the country on various matters that affect their lives and the country’s economy.

He has recently made public his desire to seek elective office in the 2022 general elections.

Bragga as he is popularly known was born on June 6, 1992, and celebrated his 29th birthday this year by throwing an all-white, Hawaii-themed party at the Mawe Resort Watamu – Boutique Hotel.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Advertising from Marbella International University Centre in Spain.

Bragga’s sister Waturi Wakairu Wamboye is a research analyst by profession but works as a talent recruitment manager in East Africa for Nova Pioneer, a network of schools that prides itself in developing generations of innovators and leaders.

The young entrepreneur has grown to become an envy of many, leading a life that most people can only dream of.

Bragga owns and runs various companies with different interests; Davidson Wakairu Gatuhi (DWG) Holdings and DWG Wines. Both companies market and promote wines.

He owns a company called Czara Events under DWG Holdings which majors in organizing events. He has been passionate about rejuvinating the events industry in the country and use it to advance his political agenda in 2022.

“Bragga is a guy who loves youth empowerment. The arts and entertainment is something he sees playing a major role in Kenya’s future development. Everything he does is geared towards helping the younger generation be productive and inspired,” a source told the Standard in February.

Bragga founded a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dubbed Vijana Amkeni meaning “Youths Rise Up” in 2016. It aims at the empowerment of young people across the country; politically, socially and economically.

“I saw the need to begin a movement that brings youth together to voice issues and be involved in national affairs. We use social media to mobilise each other,” he said during an interview on Switch TV in 2019.

Bragga also mentors youth on health and mental well-being. The initiative was advised by the statistics of the rising number of suicide cases among the youth in the country.

The NGO also majors on environmental conservation. They have planted over 250,000 trees in various counties in Kenya and aim to plant 47,000,000 trees by 2022.

During the World Environmental Day in early June this year, Bragga along with his team of youths from Vijana Amkeni planted 1,300 trees in Kilifi County.

A lot comes with being the son of a popular and powerful politician, and being a young entrepreneur. He is known to lead a lavish life and has often been spotted cruising around in expensive machines.

Bragga reportedly cruises around town in a Mercedes Benz Maybach, and another Mercedes Benz convertible.
