Kenyan politicians are in public opinion known to be wealthy owing to the lucrative salaries and perks, as well as interests in various sectors of the country's economy.
The 2010 Constitution created the office of Governor, simply known as the presidents of the devolved units, counties. These individuals control the economies of counties which amounts to billions of shillings, and in several instances, a number of them have ben accused of pocketing a slice of the funds allocated to run their counties.

Hassan Joho
The Mombasa Governor is among the wealthiest individuals in the country and is known to have a knack for the finer things in life.
