For the second year in a row, Nanyuki High School has emerged as the most preferred secondary school by KCPE candidates.
In the recently unveiled form one selection exercise of 2021 KCPE candidates, the school topped the list as one that recorded the most applications.
Education CS Geoge Magoha on Monday, April 11, announced that 156,003 KCSE candidates applied to join Nanyuki High school.
The school can, however, accommodate at most 480 form one students.
In 2021, the school equally received the highest number of applications from candidates who sat for the 202O KCPE examinations.

CS Magoha noted that 154,524 applications were made against an absorption capacity of only 384 students at the time.
Profile of Nanyuki High School
Nanyuki High is a boys boarding national school located in Nanyuki Town, Laikipia County.
The school was established in the year 1965 where some students were boarders while some were day scholars.
It is one of the best performing schools in the country and in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination, the school posted a mean grade of 8.63.
The school was ranked the second-best performing in Laikipia County. It also produced students in the Top 100.
The students adhere to a strict schedule that incorporates numerous activities and multiple tests to keep the students exam-ready all through.
Nanyuki High school offers technical subjects like electricity, building, woodwork, agriculture, and computer. It's mandatory for all form one students to pick a technical subject.
School Principal
Mr Oliver Minishi is the principal of Nanyuki High School and in a past interview, they have encouraged students to read widely and ensure participation in the learning activities.
According to Mr Munishi, students do presentations during assemblies.
