The Azimio la Umoja coalition on Tuesday, August 1 held a consultative meeting with members of the coalition’s Parliamentary Group where they affirmed their commitment to dialogue with the government.
According to a statement issued by the coalition, they resolved to back Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in leading the negotiations with Kenya Kwanza.
"The Azimio Leadership today held a consultative meeting with members of the coalition’s Parliamentary Group where they affirmed the coalition’s commitment to dialogue between Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party and Kenya Kwanza Coalition," part of the statement read.
At the same time, Azimio leader Raila Odinga in a tweet said they would engage the government while keeping 'true to our ideals and objectives.'
"We had a fruitful discussion with our coalition's Parliamentary Group, confirming our commitment to engage Kenya Kwanza in talks while keeping true to our ideals and objectives," he said.

This comes barely a day after the Odinga-led coalition unveiled its five-member team that will engage in negotiations with the government of the country's problems.
The team includes; the leader of the Minority Party, National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi, DAP Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.
The opposition coalition at the same time noted that its position remains that no party in the new negotiations can claim a right to determine for the other what to raise and what not to raise.
“Azimio will respect Kenya Kwanza's right to bring all its issues to the table. We expect Kenya Kwanza to do the same with our issues. The issues, which the team has instructions to put on the table are: High Cost of Living, Audit of 2022 elections, Bipartisan Reconstitution of IEBC, Inclusivity in national affairs and Respect for Political Parties in line with the constitution,” Azimio stated.
