Vocal Meru politician Mike Makarina now claims his driver robbed him of money and other valuables.
Makarina, who is a person living with disability, revealed the theft was undertaken while in transit, the suspect leaving the car on the move while taking off.
He almost lost his life in an accident, he alleged.
The politician claimed he was robbed of his Sh800,000 and mobile phone worth Sh220,000.

The suspect has been identified as Jessy Kanyongi.
Makarina shared the man's photo as he sought help from Kenyans to help trace him.
"Public alert! My driver Just stole over 800K from me Samsung Fold worth 220K on our way from Meru Night. He left me in the car while moving I almost died. Anyone who will come across him report to the nearest police station. Wanted criminal Full Names Jessy Kayongi. Call 0700000011," he posted on Facebook.
Makarina is a renowned political figure always airing his views on national matters.
He is aligned with the Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja wing.
The businessman has also chaired the Meru county disability committee.
