In photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the angry students blocked the busy Thika Superhighway while demanding justice for the third-year JKUAT student.

Other students marched to the Juja Police Station in Kiambu County to seek answers over the death of Omondi.

The 23-year-old was among the thousands of protestors who stormed the Parliament building on June 25 during the anti-finance bill demonstrations in Nairobi.

Omondi went missing on June 27 after he shared a video of him inside the Parliament buildings. He was found dead on July 6 at a quarry within Gachororo in Juja.

An autopsy conducted on the JKUAT student at General Kago Funeral Home revealed that he died by drowning.

Pathologists noted that the 23-year-old student had bruises on the back of his head and on his legs.

However, the family of Omondi and human rights defenders are not convinced by the autopsy findings.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has since launched an investigation into the death of the JKUAT student and has visited the crime scene to analyze events leading up to the boy’s death.
