Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across 10 counties on Wednesday, September 9.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 8, yhe company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Machakos, Uasin Gishu, Migori, Nyeri, Meru, Murang’a, Laikipia, Garissa and Kitui counties.
In Nairobi, power interruptions will affect parts of South C, including Muhoo Avenue, Rubis Muhoo Avenue, Mama Ngina Children's Home, Muhuti Avenue, Mutelo Road, Mugaya Estate, Mwali Estate, Fenda Arts, Parkview Arts, part of Olle Sharapa Avenue, Reliance Hospital, KEWI, Al Jazeera, and Uchumi Road.
Others are Parkview Estate, Heshima Estate, Five Star Estates 1 and 2, Olive Road, part of Kawi Complex Road, Five Star Road, Reality Estate, Midland Court, Halai Estate, Ruby Estate, Memon Estate and Akiba Estate, among adjacent customers.
Other affected areas in the capital include parts of Muthagia, covering Utalii Hotel, KCA University, Traffic Headquarters, Stima Club, Muthagia Police, Mathari Referral Hospital, Mathari Secondary School, KMTC, Muthagia Golf Club, Muthagia Primary School, Muthagia Square, Vuli Lane, Wambui Road, Mathari Police Residence and Depot, together with adjacent customers.

Power interruptions will also affect Road B and part of Enterprise Road, including Wood Products, Kobli Petroleum, Ng'ombe, Tiles and Carpets, MCI Products, Kuguru Close, Epco Builders Ltd, Bhachu Industries, Megh Cushion, Kenya Hydraulics, Trans Africa Motors, Sonado, Fargo Courier Ltd, Falcon Road and Mukuru kwa Reuben Hospital, among other adjacent customers.
In Machakos County, the affected areas are Ilpolosat and Konza, including Konza Data Center, Kwa Mbindyo, part of Konza City, Konza ABC, Konza Market, Konza Railway, Mumo Matem, Malili Safaricom and adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu County, the shutdown will affect Moiben and Koisagat, including Moiben, Bidii Primary School, Koisagat and adjacent customers.
In Migori County, affected areas include Bware and Oyani Water, covering Kanyakech, Kolwal, Bware, Edemba, Achuth, Oyani Water Treatment, Kaminolewe, Siro and Mukuyu Stella, among adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, power interruptions will affect Muthua Estate, including Muthua Estate, Rafina, Diaspora, Lucky Villa, Eng. Maina Village, Matharu, Grand Kago, Safaricom Boosters and Airtel Boosters.
Karemenu Primary and Karemenu Safaricom Booster will also be affected, including Igahto Primary, Muhonia Rerec, Ruai Mwai, Ruai Primary and adjacent customers.
In Meru County, the affected areas include Ntugi, Kisima and Marania.
The interruption will cover Ntugi Market, Kibirichia Market, Nitrimiti Base Station, Muruguma Market, Murinya Market, Kanguambi, Ruibi, Naari, Kimbo Market, Marania, VoK, Kironya Kathatene, Kaburiko, Kongoni Farm, AA Growers, Embori Farm, and Kisma Farm.
Uhuru Flowers, PJ Dave, Kikwetu Flowers, Kisma Secondary School, Timaflow, School of Adventure, Bloomingdale and Edenbrooks, together with adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Murang’a County, areas affected include Kangema, Kahuhia and Numbi.
The listed areas include Kangema Town, Gakira Market, Mt. Kenya Foods, Kiombi Market, Gitweku Girls, KCC, Kiangunyi, Mukarara Market, Kahuhia Senior School, Kirogo Senior School, Gathinja Market, Gikandu Market, and Kayahwe Market.
Others are Muchungucha Market, Gaitega Market, Kiriia Market, Ndutumii, Gitugi, Michuki Polytechnic, Iyego, Chui, Kambara, Njumbi, Mugeka, Wathenge, Gikoe and Kanorero, among adjacent customers.
In Laikipia County, the shutdown will affect Timau Town, Maritati and Kambogo, including Tima Town, Kwa Nganga Market, Maritati Market, Kiambogo Market, Ethi Market, Ngare Ndare Market, Ngusichi Market, and Ngusichi Secondary School.
River Side Village, Siraji Farm, Batian Farm, Tima Flow Farm, Lol Marik Farm, Timau Lodge, Loberia Farm, Sand Pro Farm and Big Flower Farm, together with adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Garissa County, the affected areas are Mikono, Iftin and Garissa Academy.
The listed customers include Mikono Hospital, Baran Blocks, Garissa Academy, IDD Ground, Sambul, Iftin Girls, Iftin Primary, Dekabure and Sambul Primary, alongside adjacent customers.
In Kitui County, power interruptions will affect Katutu, Kathiani and Nzalea, including Katutu Market, Kathiani Market, Nzalea Market, Katutu Girls and Kwa Mwambi Market and Secondary School, together with adjacent customers.
