The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of extremely cold nights in some parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley and South-eastern lowlands.
In a weather forecast report on Tuesday, September 17, Kenya Met disclosed that night time temperatures in the areas will go below 10°C for the next seven days.
"Chilly nights ahead! Expect temperatures below 10°C in some areas of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and South-eastern lowlands," Kenya Met stated.
The central highlands consist of the counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi, while the South-eastern lowlands include Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties.
However, the weatherman noted that high daytime temperatures of over 30°C are expected to be experienced in the South Rift Valley, Coast, South-eastern lowlands, Western, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.

At the same time, Kenya Met disclosed that many parts of the country will be dry during the period, but rainfall was expected in a few.
"Most parts of the country are likely to be generally sunny and dry. However, some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley and the Coast are expected to receive rainfall," the weatherman stated.
In the last weather forecast, Kenya Met noted that rainfall was recorded in the highlands west of the Rift Valley and the rest of the country was generally sunny and dry.
It also disclosed that daytime temperatures increased throughout the country, though Malindi and Mombasa recorded marginal decreases.
