A village in Simur Sub Location, Ugenya Sub County is in shock after a mother and his son were mauled to death by stray dogs.

The dogs which are said to be owned by a neighbour are said to have escaped a local homestead in the Siranga area.

The manager of the homestead said the dogs disappeared from their kennel on Sunday night and attempts to locate them were futile.

Ugenya deputy OCPD James Ngao confirmed the incident and said that the 28-year-old Caren Akinyi Aluoch was killed together with her one-year-old male baby.

“The home manager reported that the dogs had broken out of the homestead. The woman and her child were found Monday morning having been mauled by the cruel dogs,” Ngao said.

The incident left residents shocked as they struggled to come to terms with the events that unfolded.

The bodies of the lady and her son have been taken to Ukwala Sub County Mortuary.
