Mr. Amin Mohamed was on Wednesday, October 19, sworn in as the new Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss.
Mr. Mohamed thanked President William Ruto for the appointment stating that he would not let the latter and Kenyans down.
"Until my last appointment as the directorate of the internal affairs unit of the National Police Service, I have spent most of my years in the directorate. I'm glad to say that I'm back home. I want to thank President William Ruto and promise him, I shall not let him down.
"I have I am ready for the task and to lead DCI to deal with the challenges of our time,' Amin Mohamed said after being sworn in.

He mentioned that he would endeavour to lead DCI in the most professional manner and respect human rights.
Mr Amin was appointed vide a gazette notice dated October 14, 2022, to replace former Director George Kinoti who tendered his resignation and has since been redeployed to the public service commission.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Amin was the Director of the Internal Affairs Unit, mandated to investigate complaints against police.
The new DCI chief returns to the Directorate where he has previously served in various senior positions including the head of DCI Investigations Bureau, head of Operations, O/C Banking Fraud unit among other specialized units in the Directorate.
