  • The donation to be made by government will go to financing the church's project in Tumutumu, Nyeri County.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Nyeri on Sunday where he attended a special service at PCEA Tumutumu Church.

The head of state at the service appealed to leaders and citizens to take time to read and make an informed decision on the Building Bridges Initiative while delivering a number of goodies.

At the service, President Kenyatta announced a Government donation of Kshs 100 million for the completion of the ongoing expansion of Tumutumu Mission Hospital.

Also on his basket was the unveiling of plans to award a Charter to PCEA University before close of the year.

On his way to church, Kenyatta had a stopover at Tumutumu market where he addressed a gathering drumming up support for the BBI.

He told the area residents to engage objectively with BBI saying the process is aimed at securing Kenya's future as a cohesive and prosperous country.

Earlier this week, President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga were in parts of Nyanza; Kisii, Nyamira and Kisumu where they urged residents to support the initiative.

Deputy President William Ruto, on the other hand, led an onslaught on the initiative spawned by the handshake, saying ordinary Kenyans deserve to be prioritized.
