Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has come to affirm his friendship with ODM leader Raila Odinga despite a longtime silence between them.
The former prime minister is marking his 78th birthday today, January 7.
In his message of goodwill, Uhuru prayed for Raila's well-being and good health even as he ages by the day.
"I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Raila Odinga
a Happy Birthday. May God's blessings and favour be upon you today and in the years to come," Uhuru said.

This would be the first time Uhuru is revisiting his friendship with Raila after many months.
Since he handed over power to President William Ruto, Uhuru has shunned local politics, instead taking up major roles in peace initiatives in the East African region and beyond.
He is slated to relinquish his chairmanship role in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
On his part, Raila has continued to tighten is grip as regards the opposition roles, suggesting he would vie for the presidency again in 2027.
