"Any police officer who uses their firearm to defend themselves and citizens from armed criminals, in accordance with the law, we will defend them. But at the same time, any police officer who misuses a firearm assigned to them, will be on their own and face the law," he stated.
When pressed on the issue of banditry in the North Rift region which has become a menace in the country, Kindiki said," We must come round this problem of banditry. It goes beyond the recovery of stolen livestock. We must prevent theft in the first instance. This afternoon, I have approved the recruitment and training of 200 National Police reservists in Baringo County."
