Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says the entire church should not be attacked because of the Shakahola massacre in Kilifi County.  

Speaking on Saturday, May 6 in Nakuru County, Gachagua noted that the church is an integral part of society and urged religious leaders to work together to eliminate the 'few' who are misleading worshippers.

"Do not condemn all of the church for what happened in Kilifi Country. Hata kanisa ukipata mmoja au wawili wenye wako hivyo it is part of the society. Kila mtu ajaribiwe pekee yake," the Deputy President stated. 

At the same time, the deputy president took the opportunity to laud the opposition, Azimio la Umoja one Kenya for agreeing to give the bipartisan approach a shot at addressing their grievances as opposed to staging demonstrations.

"We need to find a peaceful way of settling our differences. President Ruto has been magnanimous when reached out by the opposition.

"Violence is unacceptable we welcome the Azimio team to the table for discussions but in the meantime we are busy. If it is within the law, if it is something that can be done we will do it. If not, if they tell us they want us to open the servers we don't know," he said. 

Over 110 bodies so far recovered from the Shakahola forest, in Kilifi County. Government pathologists on Thursday announced that they had completed postmortem for 100 bodies exhumed from Shakahola forest as the exercise entered the fourth day.
