Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has issued a new directive as schools reopened on Monday, January 4.
Speaking on Monday, Magoha directed schools that are already full not to admit more learners. This comes as some schools failed to reopen due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Cabinet Secretary gave the directive Monday morning even as parents turned up with their children seeking admission in new schools.
His sentiments come as the Ministry of Education puts in place stringent measures to protect learners, teaching, and non-teaching staff from contracting COVID-19.
Other measures in place include the prohibition of non-essential visits to schools by parents/guardians and any visits to schools shall be recorded.
