Lawyer Miguna Miguna now says that ODM leader Raila Odinga is gaining popularity because of President William Ruto's appointments.
In a statement via Facebook, Miguna noted that Government officials appointed by President Ruto are failing to engage Kenyans in a respectful and transparent manner.
"Raila Odinga is gaining popularity because many of the senior government officials you have appointed are failing to engage Kenyans in a transparent, respectful, and accountable manner," he said.
Miguna also advised President Ruto to listen to Kenyans and withdraw the finance bill which has received backlash from a majority of Kenyans because of the proposed taxes.
"My unsolicited advise to Kenya Kwanza, President William Ruto, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Pull back. Listen to Kenyans and withdraw the Finance Bill 2023. Postpone the implementation of the Housing Levy and return to the drawing board. Hire new, independent, and truthful advisors.

"Reshuffle your communications team and hire two or three fresh faces. Don’t rely on yes men and yes women," Miguna stated.
At the same time, Miguna told the Head of State to urgently address the issues of the high cost of living, corruption, and tribalism.
In the ongoing public hearings on the Finance Bill 2023, different groups have opposed the proposed 3% housing levy. A section of union groups has also taken to the streets to oppose the new proposed taxes.
Digital content creators have also opposed the proposed 15% withholding tax on grounds that it would stifle innovation and create bottlenecks for youth who want to venture into the digital space.
Azimio leader Raila has also been at the forefront of leading Kenyans in opposing the Bill terming it 'a punishment and insult to Kenyans.'
