Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday handed Kenya's Special Olympic team Sh3 million as a holiday gift.
The team was hosted for a luncheon at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
In honour of the Muslim celebrations on Eid-al-Adha, Gachagua said there was need to celebrate the day with the Sh3 million gift.
"It is a holiday so I will give you Sh3 million in cash and divide it among yourselves," Gachagua said.
"Yangu ni ile special injection ya haraka haraka."

The Special Olympic team won Kenya 15 Gold medals, four Silver medals and six bronze.
"With this sterling performance, they have done the country proud. They not only shattered the ceiling, but also proved that with sheer determination, there are no limits to success," Gachagua said.
"The Government will continue putting in place structural measures for people living with mental and other forms of disabilities to live fruitful and fulfilling lives."
The completion took place in Berlin, Germany between June 17 to June 25, 2023.
Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has been acting the patron of the team and she accompanied them to Berlin to chear them as they compete.
Apart from the Sh3 million gift that they share equally, Gachagua said every team member who earned the country gold will earn 750,000.
Each member who won silver will pocket Sh500, 000 while those who got bronze will take home Sh300,000.
