President William Ruto on Friday morning unveiled the government's official paybill number.
The number, he said, will be used for all services being offered by the government.
The President said the arrangement is to enable the Treasury track all payments being made to government agencies.
"There is a dedicated government pay channel, 222222. All government revenue must go through 222222 so that Treasury can have sight of every government service that is paid for, " he said.
Ruto spoke at KICC in Nairobi where he launched Gava Mkononi app that will enable Kenyans access several state services.

Others present were DP Rigathi Gachagua, prime CS Musalia Mudavadi and ICT CS Eliud Owalo.
He said in the next 90 days, all other paybill services will be shut."In the next 90 days, all other pay bills must be shut down because we have a problem of some of the pay bills that we cannot even account for," he said.
The President noted that the government had over 1000 pay bill numbers which made it difficult to trace revenues being generated from services.
Ruto’s administration is leveraging technology to save on wastages and ensure maximum revenue collection.
