Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned the use of live bullets by police during the anti-government protests by Azimio on Wednesday, July 12.
Addressing the press, the former Vice president affirmed that it's not acceptable for police officers to use arms against innocent citizens.
"We cannot have a country where men and women bearing arms use them against innocent citizens. We are told that we have lost lives in Mlolongo and Emali, this is not acceptable," Kalonzo told the press.
The Azimio demonstrations turned chaotic on Wednesday with at least nine people reported to have lost their lives, among them, four in Mlolongo and one in Emali, Makueni County.

A section of protestors was also captured on camera destroying the Nairobi Expressway at the Mlolongo Toll station.
At the same time, ODM leader Raila Odinga claimed that the protests were peaceful until police officers showed up.
"Unfortunately, our otherwise peaceful protest has been accompanied by injuries and possibly deaths in various parts of the country. Police have shot, injured and killed protesters in various parts of the country including here in Nairobi. Scores of protesters have been arrested for participating in an exercise that is clearly protected by the constitution. As usual, it is the police maiming and killing people.
"Slowly, ours is degenerating into a police state. We must not allow it to happen to our country again. We have always said that these meetings remain peaceful until police decide to break them up with bullets and teargas," Odinga said.
On the other hand, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki warned that all those who participated in the destruction of property and causing mayhem during the Azimio protests would face the full wrath of the law.
"This culture of impunity will stop. All those who took part, directly or indirectly, in today’s well-orchestrated violation of public safety and security of our nation shall be punished," CS Kindiki stated.
