President William Ruto on Saturday gifted a group of youths Sh100,000 after they attended his Githurai public address function with a model of a house akin to the State House.
The President while addressing residents of Githurai who had turned up during the launch of a water project was forced to halt speech to recognise the effort made by the man in making the model.
"Nimeona mko na mjengo hapo. Naona mumefanya bidii. Wewe patia hao Sh100,000 wanipee hiyo," he said amidst cheers from those who attended the function.
The Githurai stop was President William Ruto's first for his 5-day Mt Kenya tour that will see him host a series of events as he launches development projects.

From Githurai, the Proceeded to Murang'a County where he addressed a rally and launched some development projects.
He will then proceed to Kirinyaga County, on the same day, for the commissioning of a water project in Kagio and Marua Kwa Wambui road.
On Sunday, the President Will host an interdenominational prayer service at Sagana State Lodge.
After the service, the President is expected to chair a meeting with the region's leadership.
On Monday, the President will launch the construction of a 45-kilometre road in Mukuruweini in Nyeri county.
On the same day, he will commission two water projects in Othaya and Kaigonji which will benefit 60,000 people. He will also open Nyeri Bus Stage.
On Tuesday, he will chair a cabinet meeting at Sagana State Lodge, afterwards open the Kenya Cooperative Creameries facility in Kiganjo and later host the Mt Kenya Leaders conference at the same venue.
The President will conclude his Mt Kenya tour on Wednesday starting with the groundbreaking of a 175-bed capacity level four hospital in Naromoru.
He will then proceed to Kirinyaga to witness the groundbreaking of a housing project in Gichugu.
Ruto will then witness another groundbreaking of a housing project in Thika.
