The Kenya National Examination Council has sent a stern warning to center managers against leaking confidential information relating to the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) practical exam papers.
In a statement via X account on Monday, October 23, KNEC said the center managers should adhere to the council’s rules and regulations regarding national exams.
The council also noted that non-compliance with the rules and regulations will attract sanctions on the center managers as spelled out in the KNEC Act.
“We strongly caution KCSE Centre Managers against sharing of confidential instructions for preparation of science practical exam papers with unauthorized persons. Please adhere to KNEC rules and regulations. Non-compliance will attract sanctions spelt out in KNEC Act,” KNEC stated.

The warning comes as the national examinations kicked off countrywide on Monday starting with practicals.
The candidates are expected to sit for the practical papers in the entire week up to Friday, October 27.
The KCSE examinations are scheduled to run till November 24, 2023.
According to the Ministry of Education, 902,260 candidates registered to sit for the KCSE exams while 1.4 million students will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
