Former ODM party nominated Senator Godliver Omondi is dead.
Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula confirmed her death on Monday when he visited her in Kisumu.
Savula says the former nominated Senator Godliver Omondi was admitted to the ICU wing on Saturday after suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.
She succumbed on Monday around 6pm.
Godliver who served as a senator between 2013 and 2017 died at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu where she had been rushed for medication after a short illness.

After serving as Senator she was elected Kholera Ward MCA in the 2017 elections on an ANC ticket that was supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga for the presidency.
At the time of her death, Godliver was serving her second term as MCA having been nominated by the ODM party after the 2022 polls.
"The Late MCA has served diligently with principle and dedication. On behalf of the county Assembly of Kakamega, we mourn our departed colleague and send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Omondi. We pray to God to give the family strength and fortitude at this moment of pain and sorrow," Kakamega County Assembly Speaker James Namatsi said in a statement.
Godliver, who lived with disability, was also a champion of the PWDs' rights and an active member of the group.
