Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has told Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he will not succeed President William Ruto in 2032.
The outspoken senator while speaking in Kakamega county on Monday said a Luhya will succeed President Ruto once he retires in 2032.
"Deputy President listen to me, whether you like it or not in 2032, the way Uhuru left and Ruto entered, when Ruto leaves it will be a Luhya who will enter," he said.
Khalwale was speaking during the launch of the tree planting exercise at Shamberere National Polytechnic in Malava Constituency.

The Senator went on to say he will remain steadfast in championing the interest of the Western people the same way DP Gachagua is focused on Mt Kenya issues.
"We want just as the Deputy President has decided to fight for coffee farmers, whether I'm Deputy President or not, I will equally fight for sugarcane farmers," he said.
He accused Gachagua of causing a rift in the UDA party to advance his 2032 ambitions saying that will not work.
According to Khalwale, Gachagua has identified some leaders who he is working with to ensure his agenda is advanced.
"He must respect our community. We are not a small community, we are a community of seven million people," he added.
The Luhya community has been angling for the top seat come 2032.
Gachagua on the other hand has been consolidating the Mt Kenya region in a bid to ensure the region united even as he is expected to put up a fight to succeed Ruto.
