Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has written to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and twelve other bodies over the 2023 KCPE Results.
Addressing the media at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation on Wednesday, December 6, Raila said the opposition has taken the step to secure and defend the integrity of Kenyan examinations.
“We have taken this step out of a firm belief that once we allow education and exam systems to be caught up in a tender war then we have no country to talk about. It is a universally accepted principle that a collapse of education is the collapse of a nation,” said Raila.
The former Premier observed that Kenyan children will be affected if the national examinations start being questioned.
“We will be subjecting our children to ridiculed diminished employment especially overseas and admission opportunities in the region and abroad if we allow the integrity of exams and certifications to be questionable and the truth is that these are being questioned,” he added.

Raila also wrote to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Kenya Union of Post Primary Union of Teachers, National Parents Association, Kenya Private Schools Association, EACC, DCI, Federation of Kenya Employers.
The Azimio leader further alleged that the 2023 KCPE results error are as a result of the government’s move to cancel a contract given to a United Kingdom company that was supposed to be responsible for the printing of exams.
“The mess is KCPE started as a tender war pitting various senior officials in the Ministry of Education against each other before eventually being taken over by an official much up higher in government,” Raila claimed.
