DCI boss George Kinoti has ordered former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to appear before the directorate of criminal investigations headquarters on Monday.
Sonko is required to record a statement following remarks he made against interior PS Karanja Kibicho on Sunday.
The ex-Governor alleged that he and Kibicho were used by the deep state to disrupt ODM protests and cause chaos.
"I want to say this, in 2017 during the ODM demonstration, me, Kibicho, and another deep state we printed ODM t-shirts, bought second-hand cars from showrooms, and went to burn them in Ngong' Road so that people think it's ODM," Sonko claimed.
In a rejoinder, Interior PS Kibicho recorded a statement at the DCI headquarters on Monday following the allegations where he vowed to go after Sonko.

“I am not at DCI as PS Interior, but as Karanja Kibicho, and Sonko shall give me answers if there’s law in this country. He must prove all the allegations he has accused me of. He better prepare some good lawyers because he has admitted to crime, and after he has dealt with that, he will have to deal with my character assassination case.
“It's not okay for Sonko to keep making wild allegations against people. I have had enough because, for the longest time when Sonko has had enough, he blames Kibicho. It’s clear he has no respect for the rule of law. You make allegations that you can defend,” the PS stated.
