Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria has warned leaders against using the youth to instigate violence.
Speaking during the burial of Mugithi artist Mighty Salim in Subukia, Kuria stated that the Mt Kenya region will not be turned violent ahead of the 2022 polls.
"We saw men fighting in Kisii but Iwa not to speak on our region we will not fight. There will be no bloodshed because of politics," Kuria stated.
"For the last 30 years, the Kikuyu have had a presidential candidate this time we are supporting someone else. We can't give you votes and give you our blood...," he continued.
Mr Kuria addressed the issue of violence during this highly politicized period after violence broke out at the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi's father, Abel Gongera.

MPs Fighting
Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga were in attendance at the funeral which turned chaotic when Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and South Mugirango lawmaker Silvanus Osoro exchanged blows.
Arati rattled DP Ruto's supporters at the burial after stating that two communities have been president since Kenya gained independence.
The Dagoretti North MP further told the DP that the company he keeps does not represent the face of Kisii leaders.
Following this statement, South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro stormed the podium and grabbed the mic from Arati and the two exchanged blows.
The incident was condemned by Kenyans on various platforms with some demanding their leaders be tolerant of each other before the 2022 general elections.
