"Absolutely pleasure hearing from you all today. Shukran sana kwa salamu!"

Citizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara and her colleagues Mashirima Kapombe and Linus Kaikai have shared messages they received from Kenyans after the mobile numbers were leaked.

Taking to X on Thursday, July 18, Okwara shared  screenshots of the messages asserting that it was a pleasure to hear from Kenyans.

"May this day be a day of blessings, not horror as they expected. Let's meet on News Gang," one of the messages read.

In her statement, Kapombe expressed gratitude to the public for their kind and warm messages as she revealed the screenshots.

The seasoned news anchor noted that the messages gave her hope that the country will triumph.

On his part, Kaikai disclosed that he was overwhelmed by the countless messages of love, kindness and encouragement he received.

He thanked Kenyans for the gesture, adding that he had also received many calls and spoke to many amazing citizens.

This comes even as mobile numbers of top government officials, including the president, Members of Parliament and former CSs, were shared online a few weeks ago.

This occurred amid a social media campaign by Kenyans calling for the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024, which was eventually passed by parliament but later withdrawn by President William Ruto.
