The accident occurred a few days after another one in which 13 died along the same route.

Police have confirmed that two people were left dead and over 20 others injured after a multiple-vehicle crash in the Migaa area.

The accident involving a Simba bus and other vehicles occurred on Saturday dawn, August 24, at Molo's Twin Bridge along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.

A survivor at the scene said the bus had been driven at a modest speed before it started going out of hand, prompting reactions from the passengers.

The bus hit a stationary truck at the scene before ramming into another vehicle and later veering off the road and rolling down a river.

Earlier, responders from the Kenya Red Cross showed up at the scene to undertake rescue missions.

According to the humanitarian agency, 44 people sustained injuries of varied degrees at the scene.

Fourteen were admitted to the Molo Sub County Hospital for further treatment, while the remaining 30 were treated at the scene.

To bolster the rescue efforts of the Kenya Red Cross were police officers and disaster management officers from the Nakuru County governnment.

The Kenya Red Cross disclosed that the tragic incident involved a Coast bus and other vehicles.

"Thirty-six injured individuals have been taken to Molo and Coptic Hospitals following a road traffic incident involving a PSV bus and multiple vehicles at Migaa in Molo, Nakuru County," Kenya Red Cross stated.

Reports indicated that the bus lost control after its brakes failed before ramming into the vehicles and later landing in a ditch.  

The bus was completely wrecked, with some belongings of the passengers, including bags, scattered on the road.

Police officers showed up at the scene to assist in clearing the road to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
