The former head of state was recently seen in public for the first time in many months.

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has been among the trending topics on the Kenyan X social network in the past few days.

On October 24, Uhuru was seen in public for the first time in many months when he landed in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to grace the 15th High-Level Retreat on the Promotion of Peace, Security, and Stability in Africa.

Prior to this, his whereabouts were unknown, with some quarters speculating about the status of his health.

But on Saturday, October 26, the former head of state was on top of the charts thanks to his 63rd birthday, having been born on October 26, 1961.

Kenyans rallied behind his banner on the trending topics list to send him messages of goodwill as he turned a year older.

Uhuru served as Kenya's fourth president for two terms between 2013 and 2022.

Prior to this, he served in the Cabinet of the third president, the late Mwai Kibaki, as a minister and in the grand coalition government as the deputy prime minister.

He also represented Gatundu South in the National Assembly.
