Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga has denied meeting President William Ruto at the height of the Lake Turkana Cultural Festival, popularly known as Tobong'u Lore.
Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi shared photos separately showing Kahiga and Ruto at the event.
The lawmaker seemed to suggest that the county boss accompanied the president on purpose despite them not seeing eye to eye politically.
"Governor Mutahi Kahiga many thanks for representing Nyeri well as you accompanied President William Samoei Ruto for a development tour in Turkana County," said Wamumbi.
Kahiga is a known ally of deposed deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, and he (Kahiga) is on record declaring Mt Kenya's political divorce with Ruto should Gachagua be ousted from power.

The governor came out to set the record straight; he denied purposefully meeting and accompanying Ruto to the Turkana event.
He clarified that the photos making rounds were taken on diverse dates, hence quashing the belief he was part of the president's entourage.
"Honourable Eric Wamumbi, I see you have tried (linking me to the president). President William Ruto was in Lodwar on Friday, October 25, while I was there with governors Ahmed Abdullahi, Muthomi Njuki, na Ken Lusaka of Bungoma on Thursday, October 24," said Kahiga.
However, he stated that he would have joined Ruto's company in Turkana if he had been invited in his new capacity as the deputy chair of the Council of Governors (CoG).
"All the same, had President Ruto asked me to accompany him, I would have gladly done so in my new capacity as Vice Chairman of The Council of Governors-Kenya.
