The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of a section of Mombasa Road from Saturday, November 2, to Saturday, November 9.
In a notice on Thursday, October 31, KeNHA Director General Eng. Kungu Ndungu disclosed that the temporary closure would affect the section between General Motors and the junction to Nairobi National Park East Gate Road.
According to Ndungu, the traffic disruption will pave the way for rehabilitation works at the section to ensure effective road serviceability.
"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road will experience traffic disruption between the General Motors and junction to Nairobi National Park East Gate Road from Saturday, November 2, 2024, to Saturday, November 9, 2024.
"This is to allow for road pavement rehabilitation works to ensure effective road serviceability of the section," Ndungu explained.

The KeNHA Director General advised motorists to follow a proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with traffic officers when approaching the section.
The notice comes days after KeNHA issued another advisory over traffic disruption along a section of Mombasa Road for 25 days.
In a notice released on Friday, October 25, the authority disclosed that the disruption would be witnessed near Panari Hotel.
According to KeNHA, the disruption was necessitated by the construction works of a footbridge.
The works at the section were to commence on Tuesday, October 29, to Friday, November 22, 2024.
