The Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management has announced plans to commence a performance evaluation in all ministries and State Departments.

In a statement released by Eliud Owalo's office on Wednesday, December 4, the exercise will commence on Monday, December 9.

As detailed in the press release, the exercise will be done to evaluate the performance of the respective ministries and state departments during the 2023/2024 financial year.

Further, the evaluation will also be used to establish the progress of the implementation of President William Ruto's agenda.

Various indicators to be used in the evaluation include the targets that were set for various government offices in their performance contracts.

"The performance indicators contained in the Performance Contracts (PC) are informed by national development goals, as espoused mainly in the Kenya Vision 2030 and the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA)," read the statement in part.

"The Contracts are cascaded to all Departments, Agencies, Sections, Units and eventually to all cadres of employees. in order to entrench a performance-oriented culture in the public service."

According to the plan, the evaluation exercise will be coordinated by the Public Service Performance Management Unit (PSPMU) in Owalo's office.

"The whole process of Performance Evaluation is undertaken through the Government Performance Management Information System (GPCIS)," read the stated in part.
